Standing By Your Abuser

Rice wasn't very nice. Do you agree? The media are really having a field day since Rice was thrown off the field, so to speak. Everyone has their opinion of the fairness of the league's decision, but seeing the video definitely was a "gasping" moment. And we wonder  why she married him and stuck with him.  Just like Hiliary when Bill was accused of his "sexual sin"...these women "stand by their Man. Is abuse the same as a "sexual sin"?

Is it because of their power? Is it because they have money? Is it because they experienced this in their homes of origin? Do they accept beating as an expression of love or sexuality? Is it because they enjoy the notoriety? Each situation has it's own story. We are so reminded of our command to forgive and the 70 times 70 rule. But when is enough enough?

"Stay on good terms with each other, held together by love. Be ready with a meal or a bed when it’s needed. Why, some have extended hospitality to angels without ever knowing it! Regard prisoners as if you were in prison with them. Look on victims of abuse as if what happened to them had happened to you. Honor marriage and guard the sacredness of sexual intimacy between husband and wife. God draws a fine line against casual and illicit sex. " Heb 13 1-4

Where will you draw the line? How long would you "stand by your abusive man."
