WHAT TO LOOK FOR

There are some passages in scripture that are best read in the Message. 1 Thessalonians 5 is one of them. We are admonished to encourage one another. We are all God's children and face challenges daily. It's easy to let the attitude of "my needs before others" to encompass our thinking instead of acknowledging our human weaknesses and working to lift each other up. And remember that our leaders need encouragement, too. Sometimes we tend to think they are infallible. But think again. They, too, are human and need their cup filled. Get to know the needs of each other, be patient with each other and pray without ceasing.

" Get along among yourselves, each of you doing your part. Our counsel is that you warn the freeloaders to get a move on. Gently encourage the stragglers, and reach out for the exhausted, pulling them to their feet. Be patient with each person, attentive to individual needs. And be careful that when you get on each other’s nerves you don’t snap at each other. Look for the best in each other, and always do your best to bring it out" I Thessalonians 5:13-15 (Message)
