Cloudburst

Jake, the new fur faced family member woke us up before dawn running around the room like a mad man. We expected this behavior when it was lightening, not just raining heavily. And pour rain it did. It was like a cloud burst. "Thank you Lord, I won't have to get up to water this morning as I has planned. Thanks so much for listening to the weather men and honoring the rain forecast. The wet soil will bring growth to the plants."
The Bible speaks of raining down righteousness. What a lovely visual. There is definitely a drought of righteousness in the world. What would happen if we suddenly experienced a cloudburst that brought salvation to all? Then I could say, "Thank you Lord for filling all of us humans with your righteousness and salvation that will bring peace to the world and the whole world will grow in your grace."
“You heavens above, rain down my righteousness;
let the clouds shower it down.
Let the earth open wide,
let salvation spring up,
let righteousness flourish with it;
I, the Lord, have created it.
